Strong and Growing Support for the Campaign

Today King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski announced the endorsement of 8 regional mayors, several community and labor organizations, and more than 40 current and former elected officials.

Following his appointment to the Council, Dembowski has hit the ground running. In the first three months of his campaign he has continued to build upon an impressive list of endorsements from all sides of the political spectrum.

Endorsers include Bob Ferguson, Attorney General and former King County Councilmember for District 1, Mike Lowry, former Governor, David Baker, Mayor of Kenmore, Suzette Cooke, Mayor of Kent, Joan McBride, Mayor of Kirkland, Keith McGlashan, Mayor of Shoreline, Bernie Talmas, Mayor of Woodinville, Denis Law, Mayor of Renton and President, Sound Cities Association, John Marchione, Mayor of Redmond, Brian Bennett, Mayor of Burien, and Catherine Stanford, Deputy Mayor of Lake Forest Park.

Community and labor endorsers include the King County Corrections Guild, King County Court Protection Officers, King County Juvenile Detention Guild, King County Paramedics International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2595, Laborers International Union Locals 242 and 440, the Seattle King County Realtors, United Association Local 32 Plumbers and Pipefitter. He has also been recommended for a sole endorsement by the King County Democrats Central Committee Endorsements Committee.

“I am proud to have the have the support of these organizations and community leaders,” Councilmember Dembowski said. “Together they represent thousands of hard working individuals from across King County. Having the support of important members of labor, the business community, and so many regional leaders is a tremendous boost for the campaign.” 

Dembowski has raised more than $100,000 to date and with more than $80,000 cash on hand, outpacing any other candidate for District 1.

Rod Dembowski is a life-long community volunteer, civic leader and highly respected attorney. He was appointed in February 2013 following a lengthy community driven process to fill out the un-expired term of Attorney General Bob Ferguson in King County Council District 1. District 1 stretches from NE Seattle to Shoreline and includes all or part of the cities of Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, Shoreline, Bothell, Kirkland and Woodinville to the east. Rod lives in NE Seattle with his wife Lynna, and their two boys Evan and Camden.
